Proposal #1

[edit]

See above for header view. Would like some feedback on this. Amina (sack36) 13:03, 10 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Altered lettering to be longer, but can't get blue box back to original (short) length. Can someone help me with this? Amina (sack36) 17:27, 10 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

I've created what I think you wanted, ignore me if it's rubbish. Conrad.Irwin 18:05, 10 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
Do we need a heading at all? None of the other namespaces have them. If we have to have a heading I'd prefer something like {{citation}}, which through lack of colours and images looks more professional, however I think that the default heading "Wikisaurus:Word" is enough. Conrad.Irwin 17:49, 10 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
I think so. We want users to know immediately that they are not in the main namespace, and a strong visual reminder helps with this. That does not mean that it must be a horizontal banner across the top of the page, but some visual cue would be good. What about a right-floating navigation box with a list and links to key topic sections of Wikisaurus? It wouldn't have a lot in it right now, but if Wikisaurus does finally come into its own, this would provide the visual cue, improve navigation, all while satisfying the concern over "prime real estate" xP --EncycloPetey 21:09, 10 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
I think the navigation box is useless in this context. We're making this thing too complex. Synonyms and Antonyms and that's it. All the rest of that is in wiktionary already. Why are we carrying it too? I agree with Irwin. Take away all the clutter at the top. We can just use the logo on white background, then the word next to it. Skip two spaces; put the Synonym header in at level 2 then start loading the words. Amina (sack36) 21:05, 11 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Linking to Wiktionary:Wikisaurus

[edit]

I have added (WS) to enable linking to Wiktionary:Wikisaurus. Ideally, such a link would be there from the image, without the additional (WS). --Dan Polansky 15:53, 26 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

I'm not sure I get it. Why don't we just add this to the image? And I was wondering if you or DC knew what all the code is in this template? I'm afraid it's got my eyes whirling in different directions Amina (sack36) 07:53, 28 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Citations

[edit]

I have removed the link to citations namespace, making the header less cluttered. I do not see the need to link to the citations namespace from Wikisaurus entries: most citations are not there for Wikisaurus headwords, as these headwords are uncontested. Also, Wikisaurus entries document senses, not headwords; headwords stand for senses rather than for themselves, unlike in Wiktionary. --Dan Polansky 09:42, 10 May 2009 (UTC)Reply
