- At the beginning of a sentence, expresses general, noncommittal agreement.
- даа, даа ... ― daa, daa ... ― yes, yes ...
- At the end of a sentence, forms a counter-question where a "yes" is expected. Can be translated variously as "isn't it", "you say", and so on. Similar to Japanese ね (ね).
- бараллар даа? ― barallar daa? ― they're leaving, aren't they?
