Inherited from Old Ruthenian етѵмоло́ґїа (etimológia), further borrowed Latin etymologia, from Ancient Greek ἐτυμολογία (etumología), from ἔτυμον (étumon, true sense) and -λογία (-logía, study of), from λόγος (lógos, word; explanation). Featuring the -логія (-lohija) ending.
