From Byzantine Greek καμπαναρειόν (kampanareión), from καμπαναρείον (kampanareíon), derived from καμπανάρης (kampanárēs, “bell ringer”), itself derived from καμπάνα (kampána, “bell”), a borrowing from Late Latin campāna.
