Etymology[edit]
From Old Turkic 𐰚𐰃𐰢𐰃𐰔 (kimiz /kımız/), akin to 𐰴𐰀𐰢𐰢𐰀𐰴 (qammaq /qammaq/, “to shake”), from Proto-Turkic *kumɨŕ.[1]
