Blend of Ukrainian хай (xaj), неха́й (nexáj) or Belarusian няха́й (njaxáj) +‎ וואָלט (volt).

Usage notes[edit]

This is an auxiliary verb that does not inflect, except the contraction כאַלסטו (khalstu). It precedes the past participle to form a subjunctive/conditional mood.
