Hebrew[edit]

Etymology[edit]

Literally, "What is the issue of the sabbatical year near Mount Sinai?". This phrase is found in the commentary of Rashi (c. 1100) to Leviticus 25:1, a verse which mentions Mount Sinai as the place where God told Moses the laws of the sabbatical year: Rashi wonders why the location is mentioned in the verse.
