  • IPA(key): /frɪkaˈdɛʎkə/, /frɪkaˈdɛɫkə/

Noun[edit]

פֿריקאַדעלקע (frikadelkef, plural פֿריקאַדעלקעס (frikadelkes)

  1. (cooking) frikadelle (fried flattened meatball)
    Synonym: פֿריקאַדעל (frikadel)
  2. (South Africa, cooking) frikkadel (traditional Afrikaner dish of said meatballs)
    Synonym: פֿריקאַדעל (frikadel)

Usage notes[edit]

  • The CEYD (perhaps erroneously) only attests the second sense.
