From Biblical Hebrew צִידוֹן (Ṣīḏōn) and Aramaic ܨܝܕܘܢ (Ṣidon) from Phoenician 𐤑𐤉𐤃𐤅𐤍 (ṣydwn /Ṣīdūn/). Cognate of Ancient Greek Σιδών (Sidṓn).
