Etymology

From *ayïrïm (separate), which appears to be originally a Central Asian innovation, from ayïr- (to separate), from Proto-Turkic *adïr- (to separate).

Compare with Tatar аерым (ayerım), Kazakh айырым (aiyrym), Uzbek ayrim (separate), Kyrgyz айрым (ayrım, separate), etc.
