Etymology[edit]

Originally the absolute state of Aramaic סוּסיָא (sūsyā); compare Classical Syriac ܣܘܼܣܝܵܐ (sūsyā), Akkadian 𒀲𒆳𒊏 (sīsûm), and Hebrew סוּס (sus).
