Etymology[edit]

From მ- (m-) +‎ ა- (a-) +‎ ნძინ- (nżin-) +‎ -ენ (-en). Inherited from Proto-Georgian-Zan *ʒen- : ʒin- (to add, increase).

Verb[edit]

მანძინენ (manżinen) (Latin spelling manżinen) (Vitse–Arkabi, Khopa)

  1. to increase
    ფარა ვახარჯაში ჲადვენ დო მანძინენ
    para vaxarcaşi yadven do manżinen
When you don't spend the money, it adds up

Usage notes[edit]

  • This verb is pronounced everywhere as /mɑnd͡zinɛn/ However, in wiktionary, it is also written as მანზინენ (manzinen) for the Artasheni dialect. This is because in Artasheni dialect, the (ż) consonant is a variant of the /z/ phoneme and is observed only after the /n/ phoneme.
