Etymology[edit]
Named after the protagonist of Lewis Carroll's Through the Looking-Glass, who travelled through a mirror and encountered characters based on chess pieces.

- A chess variant that employs two chessboards; as each move is made, the moved piece is transferred to the same square on the other chessboard.
