I suspect that this reconstruction may not be valid. Russian капу́ста (kapústa) can't derive from this Proto-Slavic form because ǫ always becomes u in Russian. Similar problems apply to the Polish (expected ę) and Slovak (expected u) descendants. The presence of -ta is also strange. Only Serbo-Croatian has a term that can descend from this directly (disregarding tone). So it must have entered the language at a later date, or via another language. —CodeCat 01:57, 21 October 2013 (UTC)

I created Appendix:Proto-Slavic/kǫpus based on the remarks at kupus/купус. Before I could add more notes, it was renamed by, ehh, User:CodeCat/signature.
