Russian sibilant-stem, usually feminine nouns, normally ending in -а in the nominative singular and -и in the nominative plural. The stem ends in a sibilant (-ш, -ж, -ч or -щ) and is Zaliznyak's type 4. This is traditionally considered to belong to the 1st declension. This noun is stressed according to accent pattern b.
