Named after Swedish scientists Robin Fåhræus and Johan Torsten Lindqvist} who first reported the effect.

- (physiology) The phenomenon in which the viscosity of blood changes with the diameter of the tube it travels through, when the diameter is between 10 and 300 micrometers.
