Alternatively, from Venetian scardoccia, scardoccia, scartoccio (equivalent to Italian cartoccio (cone, cartridge)) influenced by Czech kornút or Slovak kornút (cornet, ice cream cone). Alternatively, a variant of Middle High German scharmützel influenced by Czech kornout (cornet, ice cream cone), from Italian scaramuccia and/or Middle French escarmuche, or from Italian scartoccio, a variant of cartoccio.
