Just to clarify[edit]

Hello, when it states "a Middle Iranian borrowing", does that mean that it is a borrowing from Middle Iranian, or that Middle Iranian has borrowed it [from Old Armenian]? Thank you 46.130.8.251 03:38, 5 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

The syntax is clear in that this refers to the Old Armenian (our main Armenian editor always adds Armenian comparisons this way). I did not utter an explicit stance about the borrowing time of the Arabic, but it is no later than Early New Persian. Fay Freak (talk) 04:36, 5 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
