If a Dutch person has this surname, does it count as a Dutch surname? I guess not, but to check. Mallerd 21:54, 22 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

I suppose it depends on how common the name is in the Netherlands and whether it's held by persons who have no recent history of immigration from Germany. To give a reverse example: "van der Veen" is a Dutch name that I've come across several times in native Germans, so that could count as a German name, whereas others - possibly more frequent in the Netherlands - are not common. 90.186.170.234 03:22, 10 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
