"(computing, video games) Short for buttery smooth" (which has no entry either). Presumably referring to graphics that animate without flickering or jerking. In GBooks I found a game described as "in buttery glory", but it turned out to be a farming game, so apparently that's literal butter manufacture. Equinox 02:08, 3 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

@Kiwima: isn’t this just sense 2 specifically applied in the computing context? Am wondering if it needs to be separately defined. — SGconlaw (talk) 11:49, 3 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
I am of two minds there - it is actually pretty specifically referring to frame rate and quality of the video (without that newsreel-like choppiness). In any case, that is more a question for RFD than for RFV. Kiwima (talk) 18:37, 3 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Kiwima: me too – I suppose if it has a specific technical meaning rather than just meaning “smooth” then a separate sense is warranted. But I’m not sure. — SGconlaw (talk) 18:59, 3 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

RFV-passed. As to whether it is just sense 2, that is an issue for RFD, and if this goes, then buttery smooth should probably go as well -- they both rely on the same issue of specificity. Kiwima (talk) 22:13, 10 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
