Why is this not redirected to existing "crossroads"?

adding "crossroads"[edit]

"Crossroads" is often used as a singular noun. Google search gives about the same number of hits (455 ± 5) for "came to a crossroads" and "came to a crossroad", and they're not the same hits. I've added "a crossroads" as a definition (with the indefinite article to emphasize that the word here is singular even though it looks plural).

Correspondingly, I've changed the definition in the Translations section from "a road that crosses another" to "a place where one road crosses another", from the crossroads definition. That is what the French and Spanish expressions mean; I can't speak (for the) Irish. --Thnidu (talk) 23:39, 15 October 2012 (UTC)Reply
