Not exactly. liquor is a distilled alcoholic beverage such as brandy, cognac, whisky, bourbon, schnapps, vodka, or gin (but not beer or wine); liqueur is only the fancier, sweet, highly flavored liquors, such as chartreuse, curaçao, and slivovitz. —Stephen 17:02, 2 June 2009 (UTC)Reply
