Etymology[edit]

para- + trooper feels intuitively likelier to me than paratroop + -er. Anyone confirm or deny? Equinox 23:07, 31 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

Just now I said that para- doesnt mean a parachute by itself, but apparently I missed the dozen or so words at the bottom of the para- page. ~But, since the word parachute apparently comes from French, I think my idea still makes sense. Soap 13:02, 30 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
