Etymology[edit]

From centraliz(ēt) (to centralize) +‎ -ācija (with centralizēt from centrāls (central) +‎ -izēt, and centrāls from centrs (center) +‎ -āls. Clearly not formed as such in Latvian, but borrowed and adapted from some other European language.
