Etymology[edit]
From Hindi [Term?] or Arabic كُوْتِيّة (kūtiyya), possibly linked to medieval Arabic قِطْعَة (qiṭʕa, “a kind of galley”),[1][2] or from an Indian language.[3]

- (India, historical) A fast-sailing vessel, with two masts and lateen sails, employed on the Malabar coast.
