  1. (mathematics, obsolete) An invariant function of a differential equation
    • 1871, The London, Edinburgh and Dublin Philosophical Magazine and Journal of Science:
      These criticoids are obtained in consequence of the analogy between the linear transformation of a quotic in one variable and the factorial transformation of a quotoid in one dependent and one independent variable.
