[edit]Sino-Vietnamese word from 恒 (“fixed”) and 熱 (“heat”), from nhiệt độ (“temperature”, literally “degree of hotness”). Compare Chinese 恆溫/恒温 (hằng ôn) which is from 溫度/温度 (ôn độ, literally “degree of warmth”).
