From kilo- + Latin pondus (“weight”).

kilopond (plural kiloponds)
- A gravitational metric unit of force equal to the magnitude of the force exerted by a mass of one kilogram in the standard gravity (i.e. at the surface of the earth).

- Not to be confused with kilopound.
