Etymology[edit]
From Sanskrit ॐ मणि पद्मे हूँ, (oṃ maṇi padme hūm̐,, “the wish-fulfilling jewel in the lotus”), internally derived from मणि (maṇi, “wish-fulfilling jewel”) and पद्म (padma, “lotus”). ॐ (oṃ) and हूँ (hūm̐) are not translated.
