From Danish or Norwegian persille, from Medieval Latin petrocilium, from Latin petroselinum (spelt also petroselinon),
from Ancient Greek πετροσέλινον (petrosélinon, “parsley”), from πέτρος (pétros, “rock, stone”) + σέλινον (sélinon, “celery”).
