prela f (plural prela's, diminutive prelaatje n)
- (university slang) An early-stage relationship; a relationship which may not yet be "official" but which is perceived as serious and relatively committed.
Usage notes[edit]
- Associated with student slang in particular, in which the succession of relationship stages can be defined roughly as scharrel → kwarrel → prela → rela / relatie.
