pushknee (plural pushknees)

  1. (nautical) A triangular steel structure incorporated into or attached to the bow of a pushboat, allowing the boat to face up to a barge which is higher than the deck of the pushboat.
    The deckhand had to climb the pushknee to get onto the empty barge.
