Karelian[edit]

Etymology[edit]

tehtä (to do, make) +‎ -as. An alternative theory posits instead that tehtä and tehaš are parallel borrowings from Indo-European (see Proto-Uralic *teke-). Compare Finnish tehdas.

Noun[edit]

tehaš (genitive tehtahan, partitive tehašta)

  1. factory
  2. mill (factory)
