   • 1822, John Lightfoot, John Rogers Pitman, The Whole Works of the Rev. John Lightfoot, page 308:

     A toyish wanton, when he comes to die, then he looks in his right hand; and what finds he there? Nothing but a lie.

2. Resembling or characteristic of a toy.
