Tocharian B[edit]

Etymology[edit]

Uncertain. Possibly from an unattested *ārk (merit), indicating an early Proto-Tocharian *ārk. This is possibly related to Sanskrit अर्हति (arhati), but other cognates with this word make such a connection unlikely.
