Etymology[edit]

From Ottoman Turkish ایلیمق (ılımak, to grow lukewarm), from Proto-Turkic *yïlï- (to be warm).

Cognate with Old Turkic [script needed] (yılı-, to warm up), Southern Altai јылыыр (ǰïlïïr), Turkmen ýylamak (to warm up), Uzbek ilimoq (to warm up).

Verb[edit]

ılımak (third-person singular simple present ılır)

  1. (intransitive) to get slightly warm, warm up a bit; to get lukewarm, get tepid
