Etymology[edit]

From Proto-Sino-Tibetan *l/b-ŋa (f‌ive). Cognate with Burmese ငါး (nga:, f‌ive), Tibetan ལྔ (lnga, f‌ive), Old Chinese (*ŋaːʔ), Nuosu (nge, f‌ive), Khroskyabs mŋa, Tangut 𗏁 (*ŋwə¹, f‌ive) and Jingpho manga. Compare Lhao Vo ngo:, Zaiwa ngo and Longchuan Achang ŋɔ³¹.
