Etymology[edit]
Learned borrowing from French cartomancie, from carto- + μαντεία f (manteía, “divination”).[1] By surface analysis, χαρτο- (charto-, “card”) + -μαντεία (-manteía, “-mancy”), from χαρτί n (chartí, “paper”) and μαντεία f (manteía, “divination”).
