Etymology[edit]
From Proto-Turkic *bögür (“kidney; side of body”).[1]
Cognate with Tatar бөер (böer, “kidney”), Kazakh бүйір (büiır, “side of the body”), Turkish böğür (“side, flank”), Azerbaijani böyür (“flank”), Turkmen böwür (“flank”), Yakut бүөр (büör, “kidney”).
