Mongolian[edit]

Etymology[edit]

Not found in other Mongolian varieties.

Reminiscent of several Turkic drum words, such as (Oghuz) Karakhanid [script needed] (tümrüg) and Chagatai [Term?].

Alternatively, the word could be purely sound symbolic, with the noun deriving from the interjection instead of the reverse, if they even belong to the same root.
