Etymology[edit]

From *ekinči (second), from Proto-Turkic *ẹk(k)i (two).

Cognate with Tatar икенче (ikençe), Kazakh екінші (ekınşı), Kyrgyz экинчи (ekinci), Southern Altai экинчи (ekinči, second), Uzbek ikkinchi, Turkmen ikinji, Turkish ikinci, Azerbaijani ikinci (second).
