From Medieval Latin conceptuālis +‎ -ний (-nyj), from Latin conceptus, perfect passive participle of concipiō (take hold of; conceive). Compare Russian концептуа́льный (konceptuálʹnyj), Belarusian канцэптуа́льны (kanceptuálʹny), Polish konceptualny.
