Usage notes[edit]

одяга́ти (odjaháty) should be used with clothing, while надіва́ти (nadiváty) should be used when referring to accessories. The most common examples are hats, watches, gloves, glasses, rings, earrings, masks and crowns. Moreover, надяга́ти (nadjaháty) should be used to describe the process of pulling clothes on someone or something and not on oneself.
