Borrowed from Polish arenda, from Medieval Latin arrenda.[1] Compare Russian аре́нда (arénda), Belarusian арэ́нда (arénda).

  1. lease, leasing, renting (temporary use of someone else's property on a contractual basis in exchange for specified payments)
