Cognate with Kyrgyz тулум (tulum), Kazakh тұлым (tūlym), Southern Altai тулуҥ (tuluŋ), Khakas тулунъ (tulunʺ), Shor тулуң (tuluñ, braid/plait of hair); Ottoman Turkish طولون (tulun, temple, etc.)
