Erzya[edit]

Etymology[edit]

From Proto-Mordvinic *urəźəj~*urəźəŋ, which originally meant “boar” and cognate with Finnish oras. Compare also Erzya рузей (ruźej, boar, barrow) and Erzya уропей (uropej, fang, tusk).
