Etymology[edit]

From Proto-Turkic *yüri- (to walk). Cognate with Turkish yürümek (to walk).

  1. to go, walk
    Бис оожум чоруп олурган бис.Bis oojum çorup olurgan bis.We were walking slowly.
  2. (auxiliary, + -п) Used to form the habitual aspect for certain verbs, namely when the subject is moving.
  3. (auxiliary, чор + -п) Used to form the progressive tense for certain verbs, namely when the subject is moving.
    Мени саадатпа, мен аажок далажып чор мен.Meni saadatpa, men aajok dalajıp çor men.Don't make me be late, I'm hurrying.
