Etymology[edit]

From ыар (ıar, heavy, difficult), from Proto-Turkic *iagïr. Compare Azerbaijani ağır, Turkish ağır, Kyrgyz оор (oor).

Adjective[edit]

ыарахан (ıaraqan)

  1. heavy
    Antonym: чэпчэки (cepceki)
  2. (by extension, colloquial) pregnant (of humans)
    See synonyms at хат (qat).
  3. (economics) expensive
    Synonym: сыаналаах (sıanalaaq)

Usage notes[edit]

For translators (Yakut to English) — The word "heavy" can be used to mean "pregnant", but this is generally considered old-fashioned.
