From Proto-Turkic *yapurgak (leaf).[1]

Cognate with Old Uyghur [script needed] (yapïrğaq, leaf); Tatar яфрак (yafraq, leaf), Kazakh жапырақ (japyraq, leaf), Turkish yaprak (leaf), Uyghur يوپۇرماق (yopurmaq, leaf), Yakut сэбирдэх (sebirdeq, leaf), etc.
