Etymology[edit]

Borrowed from a Turkic language, from Proto-Turkic [Term?]. Compare Tatar ярату (yaratu), Bashkir яратыу (yaratıw) and Chuvash юрат (jurat). Cognates include Eastern Mari йӧраташ (jörataš) and Western Mari яраташ (jarataš).
